Destiny Crazed

It has to be. If it wasn’t so than you couldn’t begin, and it began before the creation of the universe.

It has to be.

Or else, it’s all for nothing.

I keep moving forward, inching closer, dragging my limbs to uphold a position I have determined was mine to fit in. I open my eye and find the mold looks nothing like my shape, so I contort my being into a constraint that allows me to fit- uncomfortably so.

I call the discomfort growing pains.

Holding oneself into a position for so long will leave you feeling stuck. You will feel both like you are too much and not enough. You will attempt to fill in the gaps and holes, and push against the spots to small for you to fit into, insisting that your way is correct and this is still, in fact, a position meant only for you.

Getting you of the mold is difficult. Changing your mindset for the future is equivalent to Sisyphus’ curse to push a boulder up a hill for all of eternity. For this reason, it is much easier to think of destiny, purpose, and your place in the universe more like a shell.

You are a hermit crab, and each position you take is a temporary fit until a better position comes along.

You are your own destiny. The more you fight what actually is meant for you, the more you miss the opportunity to switch to a better fitting shell when it manifests onto your path.
